Londoner Sydney Allard was a garage owner and successful racing driver before the first car to bear his name was built in 1937. After WW II, cars were built for racing, rallying and for the road, Sydney Allard himself winning the 1952 Monte Carlo Rally – the only person ever to win in a car of his own make. Never a major manufacturer, sales diminished throughout the 1950’s and the last cars to be badged as Allard were constructed in 1960.
