Amphicar

Perhaps the best-known of all amphibious vehicles, the Amphicar was built in Germany between 1961 and 1968.  It was designed by Hans Trippel and was powered by a Triumph Herald engine which drove the rear wheels and also two propellers.  Top speed was 7 mph on the water and 68 mph on the road.  Approximately 800 were made in total.
