Anadols were built in Istanbul from 1966 by Otosan Otomobil Sanayii, a company that had been established by Reliant. A prototype Reliant FW5 was renamed “Anadol” after a national competition in Turkey to find a name. Cars were powered by Ford engines and by 1970, 10,000 had been manufactured. Production however declined in the face of growing numbers of imported vehicles and the last Anadol to be built was in 1986.
