Cisitalia – Consorzio Industriale Sportiva Italia – was founded by Piero Dusio in Turin and produced their first car in 1946.  Powered by FIAT engines, vehicles were produced for both road and race use.  When Piero Dusio moved to Argentina in 1949, an Italian consortium continued to produce Cisitalias until 1965.
