Citroën Argentina S.A. was formed in 1960, the first car to be produced being the Citroën 2cv.  Vehicle manufacture continued until 1979, when ownership was transferred to a different company, IES.  Citroën later returned to Argentina in the 1990’s as part of the PSA Peugeot Citroën Group.
