DAF

DAF (Van Doorne’s Automobielfabriek N.V.) began production in The Netherlands in 1958.  A Variomatic transmission made their cars very easy to drive.  This was called CVT which stood for “continuously variable transmission”.  Volvo took a majority stake in the company in 1974 and manufacture of cars continued until 1976.
