Ford in Germany began in Berlin in 1925 before moving to Cologne in 1931. In 1939 the name was changed to Ford-Werke. In 1967, Ford of Europe was established and although Ford-Werke continues as a separate company, the introduction of the Escort in 1968 marked the end of completely different models made in Germany and the UK. (Please see Ford of Europe for models from 1967 onwards.)
