German aircraft manufacturer Heinkel first produced their “bubble car” in 1955.  Originally built with three wheels, a 4-wheel version was introduced in 1957.  From 1958 cars were built in Ireland and then in Surrey by the Lambretta-Trojan Organisation.  Production ended in 1965.
