Jeep

The name “Jeep” almost certainly comes from the USA’s military “General Purpose” or GP vehicles, especially those used in WW II.  As a brand name, Jeep began in 1963 building cars that are renowned for their off-road capabilities.  Today, Jeep is part of FIAT Chrysler Automobiles.
