American Frank Kurtis began building cars in 1932.  His company was called Kurtis-Kraft and became famous for its very successful racing cars.  Sports cars bearing the name Kurtis also appeared in the late 1940’s.  He later sold his company and the last Kurtis-badged cars were built in the early 60’s.
