Metropolitan was a brand name owned by AMC (American Motors Corporation).  From 1953 until 1962 the Austin Motor Company built the Metropolitan for the North American market where it was badged either as a Nash or a Hudson.  Almost 95,000 were sold.  Right-hand drive models were also sold in the UK.
