Railton

Although the company was named after automotive engineer Reid Railton, it was Noel Macklin who founded the firm in 1933.  The first vehicles were closely based on the American Hudson and were powered by Hudson engines.  Cars were fast and stylish but were never produced in great numbers.  Noel Macklin eventually sold the company to Hudson Motors Ltd. and the last Railton was built in 1950.
