The company was founded in 1894 by Édouard Rochet and Théophile Schneider and was based in Lyons. Initially, vehicles were based on Benz, Panhard & Mercedes models with the firm gaining a reputation as a producer of one of France’s best-known quality cars. Many different models were manufactured over decades, but the Depression in the 1930’s meant that the last cars to be badged as Rochet-Schneider were built in 1932.
