Australian driver Vern Schuppan won Le Mans in 1983 in a Porsche 956.  In 1991, he announced a road-going version of a Porsche 962 called the Schuppan 962 CR.  A production run of 50 vehicles was planned at a cost of £770,000 each.  (Photo shows Vern Schuppan signing autographs at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.)
