SSC North America (formerly Shelby Supercars) was founded in 1998 by Jerod Shelby (no relation to Carroll Shelby).  Their first model the SSC Ultimate Aero was introduced in 2004, becoming the world’s fastest production car in 2007.  The company is based in Richland, Washington.
