The Thomas Motor Co. was based in Buffalo, New York and was founded by Erwin Ross Thomas (1850-1936) in 1902.  Becoming one of the USA’s top manufacturers of quality cars, a Thomas Flyer won the New York to Paris Race in 1908.  However, financial difficulties meant that the company went into receivership in 1913, after approximately 7,000 cars had been produced.
