Toyotas were exported to Brazil from the early 1950’s, with Toyota do Brasil being established in São Paulo in 1958.  The first vehicle to be manufactured was the Land Cruiser, “Bandeirante” being the Brazilian name for Land Cruiser.  Manufacture of cars continues today at Indaiatuba and Sorocaba.
