Tucker

Preston Thomas Tucker (1903-1956) was responsible for one of the most radically different cars manufactured in the USA.  The Tucker Torpedo was a 6-seater and powered by a rear-mounted engine, had safety belts, disc brakes and swivelling headlamps.  Production in Chicago only lasted from 1946 until 1948, with a total of 51 being built, before financial difficulties caused the company to close.
